Metta World Peace/Ron Artest (1979): Metta World Peace was known as one of the fiercest competitors in his time in the NBA, establishing himself as one of the greatest defenders of this century. It started when he was taken 16th overall in the 1999 NBA Draft, spending his first three years with the Chicago Bulls. He was traded to Indiana in 2001 and finished top 5 in Defensive Player of the Year voting in three of his five seasons with the Pacers. He also won the Defensive Player of the Year award in 2003 while making his one and only All-Star appearance that year. After that, he spent time with the Sacramento Kings and Los Angeles Lakers, winning a ring with the Lakers in 2010. The defensive stud averaged 13.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.7 steals throughout his 17-year career and retired in 2017.
Jack George (1928): The Philadelphia Warriors selected George in the 13th round of the 1953 NBA Draft. He spent his first six seasons with the Warriors, making two All-Star appearances during that stretch. He closed out his career by playing three seasons with the New York Knicks, retiring in 1961. In his time with the Warriors, George averaged 10.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game. He also won a championship with them in 1956.
